California murder suspect arrested in Bay area

Safety Harbor, Florida-- Friday night, US Marshals arrested a man suspected of murdering his wife on a cruise ship years ago.

The case that goes back to 2006 when the suspect, Lonnie Kocontes, lived in Mission Viejo, California-??just outside of Los Angeles.

According to the L.A. Times, FBI agents believed Kocontes killed his ex-wife for financial gain during an Italian cruise and tossed her body overboard near Naples.

He reportedly said she went missing, but an Italian doctor performed an autopsy and determined that she'd likely been strangled to death.?

Friday night, nearly seven years later, US Marshals, Orange County detectives and local deputies arrested Kocontes.

Officials say he was taken into custody in?Pasco County.
